      4. From my visit to Hexham library Jun 2009 of Warden christenings 1695-1987: Oliver Burnhope, s. of William, woodman, and Sarah of Warden 20 Aug 1843. {The christening record for son Oliver, 20 Aug 1843 in Warden, shows his parents as William and Sarah. Oliver must have died young because another Oliver is christened 20 Jan 1854 with parents William and Sarah. The latter Oliver also shows up in the 1891 English census in Ulverston, Lancashire with a half-brother, Joseph, age 16 b. Heburn, Durham.]
Apparently Elizabeth and Ann, two of William Burnhope's and Mary Oliver's daughters, each had a child born out of wedlock as found in the christening and burial records of Warden Parish:
      Warden christenings 1695-1987:
-Marianne Burnhope, d. of Ann sp. [spinster] of Hardhough 14 May 1843.
-Mary Burnup, d. of Elizabeth sp. of Water Side, 21 Jan 1840.
      Warden burials 1695-1987:
-Mary Ann Burnhope, inf., 30 Jan 1844, Hard H., Christian burial.
-Mary Burnup, 10d, 1 Feb 1840, Water Side, Christian burial.
Also the niece of Elizabeth and Ann, Ann who is the daughter of their brother William and his wife Sarah Nichol, also had a child out of wedlock named Oliver who was born 1871 and died 1873 at the same parish as noted above.

      CHRISTENING:

      DEATH:
      1. Ancestry.com's "England and Wales, FreeBMD Death Index" indicates a William Burnhope, died 3rd Quarter of 1880 at Bellingham, Northumberland, age 59 (b. 1821) which fits with this William. He does not show up in the 1881 census.
