- BIOGRAPHY:
1. As of early 1980's, resided in San Rafael, California. Owned a business as of 1982: Edward Scott Hales ASID Assoc., 33 Cedar Avenue, Larkspur CA 94939. Was an interior designer for LDS temples. Jack Petersen states that his grandmother Sarah Hales raised Eddie.
2. Email dated 20 Feb 2024 from Kathie Hudson addressed to Kerry Petersen:
"Yesterday, I connected with Steve Wassom. He is the ex-brother-in-law of Eddie Hales. He grew up knowing Eddie in Tooele. He was surprised to hear that Jack Petersen thought he was raised by Grandma Hales. He said that he has yearbooks showing him attending and graduating from Tooele high school. Maybe there is a chance he did spend time with grandma when he was young or some summers. Steve is close to your age. His sister Michelle is Eddie’s ex-wife and is 8 yearish older. Michelle and her two sons are very active in the LDS Church. Michelle remarried a different childhood friend. She goes by Michelle Hansen (Michelle Wassom Hansen ). One son lives in Parks City and I can’t remember if the other one is in Utah.
Steve said that Eddie was raised Catholic and he remembers when he got baptized in the church. Michelle is going to call me soon. Steve happens to live in Smithfield which is the town immediately to the north of Logan. He is on a service mission in the family history center in Logan. I got in touch with Steve because he shared Eddie’s obit on FS."
Kathie also forwarded to Kerry this email from Steve Wassom dated the same date :
"Ed's 1950 census in FamilySearch shows he is in Tooele at 4 years old. The two attached newspaper articles (I have a Newspapers.com subscription) show him in Tooele's Central School in 1957 in 6th grade, and him graduating from Tooele High School in 1964.
The obituaries for Margaret are incorrect; her death certificate and military death card (posted by her granddaughter-in-law Jennifer Hales) in FamilySearch shows her born in 1908.
Also, I found Henry Freeman Dayton in FamilySearch https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/KWZ4-MFT (the person in Doyle's bible) and tagged him to that Memory. You may want to edit the title "Elder H. Freeman Dayton, Dingle, ID" to reflect his correct name. He was a missionary in the Northwestern States Pacific Mission from 1916-1918.
