- RESEARCH_NOTES:
1. Email from Val Bray [mailto:valjoy.bray@yahoo.com.au], Aug 22, 2006: My information from Folkington, Sussex (very close to Arlington) came from FHL film 1364154, and the Sussex Marriages Index (a CD issued by the Sussex Family History Group from parish registers).
Thomas (bapt. 7 Apr 1782, Arlington) married Ann Richardson a widow, at Brighton, Sussex on 30 Dec 1826. Children were Jane 1827, George 1830, Sarah 1832, John 1834. (From the census). Thomas died 15 Mar 1845 at Hellingly, Sussex.
2. Val Bray [mailto:valjoy.bray@yahoo.com.au], November 03, 2006: Thomas Osborne (bapt. 7 Apr 1782 father Edmund) died 15 Mar 1845. The informants weren't always sure of the age. If you can't read and write you probably can't count either. In the 1851 census, Ann Osborne (Richardson), a widow and a housekeeper was at Waldron. With her was her son George aged 20, a brickmakers apprentice. In This census at Hailsham was her son John aged 16, a shoemakers apprentice and Jane aged 23, a house servant.
3. Email from Val Bray [valjoy.bray@yahoo.com.au] December 17, 2006: Ann Richardson (married to Thomas Osborne, 30 Dec 1826) was a widow and I do not know her single name. In 1851 census she says she is born in Hailsham about 1793/4. I'm still looking for her death.
4. Censuses:
1841 Eng: Hailsham, Sussex, p. 10 of 12, all born in same county:
Thomas Osborne, 60, Ag. Lab.
Ann, 45.
Jane, 14.
George, 11.
Sarah, 9.
John, 7.
1851 Eng: Waldron, Sussex, p. 7 of 23, Tidsmare Cottage?, #29:

1861 Eng: Horsham, Sussex, p. 38 of 44, #183, part of Normandy Almshouse with several others, may not be the same person due to variance on birthplace; however, I find no other Ann Osbornes in Sussex the right age unless she remarried:
Ann Osborn, 68, widow, formerly servant, b. Sussex, Horsham.
MARRIAGE:
1. Online Ordinance Index FHL film m135331 marriage extraction: Thomas Osborne and Ann Richardson, md. 30 Dec 1826 at Brighton, Sussex, England. Per notes above I believe Richardson may be a surname from a previous marriage.
