"William Wells, a son of Edmund and Welthia Ann (Goodrich) W. of Cambridge, NY, born calc. 1777; was a farmer; he married 13 or 15 Dec. 1804, by the Rev. John Dunlap, Prot. Presby. Church, Cambridge; Wash. Co., NY, of which he was a member from 3 Feb. 1806 and a trustee: 1810-11, to Wealthy Gilbert, daughter of John and Milicent (Goodrich) G. of Hebron, CT, born 22 Feb. 1772, Hebron, Tolland Co., CT; family lived next north of Sidney Wells's place in Cambridge; she also, was a member of the Rev. Dunlap's church, from 28 Aug. 1806; and died ___; he died 15 May 1829 in 52nd year of age and was buried in the cemetery on the Turnpike south of Cambridge village. (Did this man have a 2nd wife Margaret____?). Children: [Lists four children b. 1805-1810.]
