"Nicholas Knapp Genealogy," compiled by Alfred Averill Knapp, M.D. "This Genealogy of the Descendants of Nicholas Knapp, first found mentioned at Watertown, Massachusetts in 1630, is the result of the work and research of many individuals. The four principal collectors of data were Charles Ruggles Knapp, Henry Eno Knapp, Ezra Fred Knapp and the author, Alfred Averill Knapp, but they were assisted through correspondence by a large number of individuals who furnished much valuable family and local information..."       M. Amy Rundell, b. Oct. 23, 1730, dau. of William and Mary (Reynolds) Rundell, of Greenwich. She m. 2nd 1788, ___ Palmer.

      F-149. Amy Keziah, d. 1835. m. Dec. 23, 1762, James Allison, Orange Co., N.Y., son of Richardson and Anne Allison, of Ridgeway, Orange Co. James was b. 1740 or after in Orange Co., N.Y. They first went to Long Island, later settled in Slate Hill, Orange Co. He inherited his father's house and 80 acres of land. He owned a large tract of land at Slate Hill and also near Turner's Orange Co. He was a soldier in the Revolution, possibly under Col. John Hathorn, 4th Regt. Orange Co. Militia. His widow, Amy Keziah, m. 2nd James Smith. James Allison and Amy had: (1) James, settled in Canada but returned for the War of 1812. (2) Caleb. (3) Lydia, m. Jason Howell. (4) Amizi, m. 2nd Grace Davis. (5) Fanny, m. Justus Brooks. (6) Col. William, m. Sarah Roe. (7) Sarah, m. her 2nd cousin, Isaac Allison, Jr. (8) James, m. Lottie Anna . (9) Ambrose, m. Anna. E. Allison. (10) Richardson. (11) Joshua, m. Elizabeth . (12) Patty, m. Joseph Thompson. (13) Gabriel, single. (14) John. James Smith and Amy Keziah had: (15) Amy who m. Reynolds. Will of Amy Allison, dau. of Caleb and Amy Knapp, filed June 29, 1835, says she is of Minisink and Warwick and names: William. -Amzi. -James. -Ambrose. -Gabriel. -Lydia Howell. -Sally Allison, wife of James. -grand dau. Amy, dau. of William. -grand dau. Amy Ann Brooks and Eliza Allison, dau. of my son Joshua.
      F-150. Sarah, m. Moses Sawyer, Orange Co., N.Y. (A Moses Sawyer, Goshen, N.Y. and wife Elizabeth, are buried in Webb Cemetery, Goshen, N.Y. She d. Feb 15, 1841, age 38. A Benjamin Sawyer, d. Dec. 10, 1835, age 68, and his wife, Louisa, d. Oct. 1, 1861, age 51 yrs.)

      E-90. Caleb Knapp's three sons: William, Jabez and Caleb, m. three sisters: Mary, Hannah and Martha Holly. The Hollys trace back to their grandmother, Polly Drake, who lived to the age of 101 yrs. Her husband's name was John Drake and her maiden name was Oldfield. Caleb Knapp enlisted in Col. Wooster's Reg't. Mch. 30, 1758. Served to Oct. 12, 1758 in the French and Indian War. (See Conn. Historical Soc. Collection, Vol. IX, p. 150, French and Indian War.) "Sergt. Caleb Knapp enlisted Apr. 3, discharged Nov. 26, Campaign of 1758, 4th Reg't. under Col. Andrew Ward, Jr. Co. 5, Capt. David Waterbury of Stamford." Serg't. Caleb Knapp named in list of such as were "in last year's service and now entitled to right to half pay" in Capt. Waterbury's Co. (p. 151) "Caleb Knapp, of Greenwich, and Ame, his wife and natural dau. of William Rundell, late of Greenwich, deceased, deed to Moses Husted, land at a place called 'Peck Land' and part of the land that did belong to our father, Wm. Rundell, bounded, viz.," etc. Deed made in 1753, delivered Oct. 10, 1755. This was before he moved to Goshen, N.Y. Will of Caleb Knapp, Sr., father of this Caleb, mentions wife Clemens and Children: Caleb, Titus, Amos, Sarah Hobby, Clemens Bush, Amy Mead, Charity Lockwood, Lydia Runals, Hannah Close and Mary Knapp. Jabez Mead deeds in 1761, to various relatives, among them "Caleb Knapp, of Goshen," Titus, Amos, Sarah Clemens, Amy, etc., the same as mentioned above in Caleb Knapp's will. This fixes Caleb Knapp, of Goshen, as brother of the others and so places his family. Probate Records of Caleb Knapp, Jr., Goshen, N.Y., Mch. 7, 1768. David Knapp, Jr. of Greenwich, was appointed guardian of William, son of Caleb. On Dec. 5, 1769, David Knapp, Jr. was appointed guardian of Amy, dau. of Caleb. On Mch. 7, 1768, William Rundell was appointed guardian of Jabez, son of Caleb. William was a Corporal in Capt. McCauley's Co., Col. Watkin's Reg't. June 10, 1779. Caleb lived on a farm between Warwick and Chester in 1768. Jabez Knapp enlisted in a Goshen, N.Y. Reg't. N.Y. State Militia, made Ensign Feb. 26, 1778, Lieut. Mch. 12, 1783 and was killed on General Training Day, May 1, 1801, at Goshen, by being thrown from his horse. Amy Rundell m. Caleb Knapp. Their dau. Amy m. James Allison. Their dau. Fannie m. Justus Brooks. Their son James m. Clarissa Hallock. Their dau. Emeline m. Wesley C. Squire. Their dau. Anna m. Jesse D. Neikirk, of Oberlin, Ohio."

      "AMY (EME/AME) (Rundle) (Knapp) Palmer 3, William 2, William 1; resided Goshen, Orange Co., New York (Greenwich, CT); born Oct. 23, 1730 Greenwich, Fairfield Co., CT; parents: William Rundle Jr. / Sarah Knapp? – pg. 55 Knapp Genealogy gives her parents as William & Mary (Reynolds) Rundell of Greenwich, CT; married 1st: ca 1750, probably at Greenwich, CT to Caleb Knapp Jr., born: Nov. 09,1724 at Greenwich, Fairfield Co., CT
      died: 1767 Goshen, Orange Co., NY; parents: Caleb Knapp Sr. / Clemence Mills; military: enlisted in Col. Wooster's Regt. Mar. 30 1758. Served to Oct. 12 1758 in French & Indian War.; married 2, 1788 to ___ Palmer. Children (Knapp)4:
