1. Per Ancestral file v.4.19: parents are William Rufus Slade and Julianne Higginbotham; other wives are:
a. Joanna Barron b. 27 Jan 1847 at Houston, Harris, Texas, d. 18 Jan 1930 at Kline, LaPlata, Colorado and bur. same place 20 Jan 1930, m. 3 Sep 1865 with no place nor children mentioned. Ordinance Index indicates Sarah Joanna Barron marriage and sealing 29 Jun 1867 at Endowment House in Salt Lake City.
b. Mary Jane Western b. 22 Dec 1851 at Birmingham, Worchestershire, England, d. 17 Nov 1894 at Mancos, Montezuma, Colorado, m. 20 Jun 1870 at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah with nine children listed born between 1871 and 1888. Ordinance Index indicates Mary Jane Westin with marriage and sealing 20 Jun 1870 at Endowment House in Salt Lake City.

3. Online Ordinance Index alt. birth may be 25 Nov 1837 at St. Landry, Avoyelles, Lousianna. Note that I can't find a St. Landry in Avoyelles County, Lousiana.
BIRTH:
1. Calculated from age on death certificate quoted below is 25 Sep 1837 in Texas. This is confirmed by Sep 1837 shown in 1900 census. I use Louisiana since he consistently gives it in every census.
MARRIAGE:
1. Barron: Ordinance Index indicates Jefferson Slade and Sarah Joanna Barron marriage and sealing 29 Jun 1867 at Endowment House in Salt Lake City. Alternate entry indicates marriage 3 Sep 1865 with sealing 29 Jun 1867. I use the earlier date considering the age of the eldest daughter in the 1880 census. Probably got married civilly away from Salt Lake City before getting their sealing done.
DEATH:
1. Photo of gravestone on file from cemetery in Eagar, Arizona. It reads: "Father, Jefferson Slade, Died Dec. 28, 1916." This is contrary to most Ancestral File information which has same date but one year earlier in 1915. The burial date in Ancestral File also had 1915, so I changed that to 1916 as well. On the other hand, Colleen Gwynn in her email of 1 Jan 2005 states: "His death year is 1915 based upon the LDS St. Johns Stake Form E Deaths in 1915 (FHL film 2456); however, this source has the day as 29 rather than 28 that is on the marker. Not sure which is correct subject to whether the stone was placed contemporaneously or not to the death."
2. Per online image of death certificate at website http://genealogy.az.gov/azdeath/014/10140801.pdf: Arizona death certificate, Jefferson Slade, d. 28 Dec 1915 at Eagar, Apache, AZ, white, married, b. Sep 25, 78 y 3 m 3 d, farmer, died of old age and general debility, b. in Texas to Wm. Slade and Julia A. Hickenbeden[?], informant was E.J. Udall of Eagar, AZ.
