1. May also be Canada. Canida was often a variation of Cannady or Kennedy.
2. Email daed 15 Aug 2020 from Preston Richey sti@xmission.com: "In reference to Rebecca Canida’s parents, I think there is some support for John and Abigail. I’ve traced this information back to James Moroni Richey’s wife Mary Ann Chapman (Mame). She was the granddaughter of Welcome Chapman, so her father-in-law, James Richey, and her grandfather Welcome Chapman served together in the Stake Presidency in Manti. Aunt Mame married into the family when she was just 16, and Uncle Rone was 40! She was very interested in genealogy, and started out (as you did in those days) by going around and collecting information from the older generation. I think this would have been much easier for her than someone else of her age because she would have been a lot closer to the older folks by virtue of her marriage. Her life overlapped Lucinda Mangum’s by 16 years, and they both lived in or around St. Johns, AZ, so it seems probable to me that she got her information on Rebecca Canida’s parents from Lucinda. In my footnote I point out that there is no primarydocumentation, but I’m reluctant to leave this information out because it might be an important stepping stone to finding better documentation."
