      2. We determine this child was female indirectly through a poem entitled "I Remember Grandma," written by Joyce Ackley in her book "House of Memories and Other Poems." We confirmed Joyce's source for the statement and she stated she was so told by Grandma Mary Ann (Burnhope) Petersen. The poem:
      "Grandma had patience
as she sewed doll clothes for me
      that she stitched as fine
      as any Paris gown.
She taught me to quilt -
      taught me how to cook.
      Grandma let me brush
      her long white hair and
roll it up in a bun on
      top of her head.
She let me explore her velvet jewel box
and wear her blue stones - for a day.
      Grandma took time to
      listen to me.
      She took me to church.
      She made the most wonderful
      hash in the world.
      Grandma went with me
      to the
      chicken coup, showed
      me how to get eggs
      from under the hen.
      When Grandma was little
      her baby sister died -
      Grandma helped wash her and
      dress her for burial."

      3. 1900 US Census for parents indicates that they had 7 total children of which 2 (Isaac and Mary Ann) were living at the time of the census. Ken Burnhope (grandson of Isaac) in his email of 18 Oct 2002 indicates his records have notes on the birth of five stillborn babies born after Isaac and Mary Ann. The cemetery in Ogden has two graves; one with one baby with a birth and death date in the record of 6 Feb 1888 at Promontory and the other grave marker shows "Babies" with the cemetery record just showing just "babies" with no date. No actual record documents "stillborn" and the baby with the date may possibly have lived for part of a day considering it merited dates with the burial. We do know that one of the babies was female because of a poem entitled "I Remember Grandma" written by Joyce Ackley in her book "House of Memories and Other Poems" which describes Mary Ann Burnhope's memory of helping wash and dress a baby sister for burial. I assume this baby girl may be the one who lived and died 6 Feb 1888.
