Notes |
- RESEARCH_NOTES:
1. Apparently Elizabeth and Ann, two of William Burnhope's and Mary Oliver's daughters, each had a child born out of wedlock as found in the christening and burial records of Warden Parish:
Warden christenings 1695-1987:
-Marianne Burnhope, d. of Ann sp. [spinster] of Hardhough 14 May 1843.
-Mary Burnup, d. of Elizabeth sp. of Water Side, 21 Jan 1840.
Warden burials 1695-1987:
-Mary Ann Burnhope, inf., 30 Jan 1844, Hard H., Christian burial.
-Mary Burnup, 10d, 1 Feb 1840, Water Side, Christian burial.
Also the niece of Elizabeth and Ann, Ann who is the daughter of their brother William and his wife Sarah Nichol, also had a child out of wedlock named Oliver who was born 1871 and died 1873 at the same parish.
CHRISTENING:
1. Per FHL film 1068615 for Warden Parish records: Mary, dau. of Elisabeth Burnup, spinster with abode at Waterside, chr. 21 Jan 1840.
DEATH:
1. Civil Registration - Death Cert.; 1840; General Register Office, London, England; When Registered 28 Feb 1840, Reg Dist Hexham, Sub-Dist. Chollerton. Supposedly this reports a death date of 4 Feb 1840, but that conflicts with the burial information below and it should be reviewed again.
BURIAL:
1. FHL does not have the burial records from Warden Parish after 1813; however, on film 1068697, they have an index of the burials. It shows a burial for Mary Burnup, 1 Feb 1840, 10 days old residing at Waterside. This date conflicts with the death reported above for 4 Feb 1840. One of the records may be transcribed in error mixing up a 1 for a 4 or vice-versa.
