      1. Most Rootsweb.com WorldConnect sites checked on the internet show this individual's name as Duke Hardiman without any documentation; however, the temple work done by relatives in the St. George Temple in 1878 lists his name as Hardaman Duke. Variation also listed as Hardyman, Hardeman, or Hardiman Duke. Deeke may be sometimes show as a bad transcription of Duke.

      a. 1808 deed Francis Gill from Hardman Deeke Book J page 10, 118 acres for $118 on Duncan's Creek. Hardiman hisXmark Deeke for $118 paid by Francis Gill sell 118 acres on Duncan's Creek, originally granted to Alex. McMarcy. 16 Apr. 1808. Wit: James Hound and Roger Brown. Duncan's Creek, on Mill's Atlas, is up in the north east portion of old Laurens District.
