    • RESEARCH_NOTES:
      1. Temple work for Anna Brown Allison: FHL film 170840, p. 252, ordinances 4744, 4745, 4746, 4750, and 4751 with Eliza Adair Price acting as proxy respectively for Polly Allison Rigsley, Betsy Allison Ivins, Anna Brown Allison, Fanny Jones Allison and Lurania Hyer Allison. Eliza states her relationship as "cousin." States birthplaces as So. Carolina; however, Eliza stated the same for each of the 19 ordinances she did that day whether it was correct or not. I did not find any of these individuals in Rootsweb.com as of 4 Feb 2005.

      2. Rootsweb.com Worldconnect 13 Feb 2005 database ":1618797" of Al Allison is the basis of the following. Note that there are several databases that are similar but this one is the most detailed. They all show Thomas' first wife as "Lucy Ann Brown" of Laurens Co., SC, with the birthdate of generally 7 Sep 1781 which is the date we have used for Anna Brown, daughter of Roger Brown.
Thomas Allison; Birth: 13 Jan 1779 in Laurens County, South Carolina; Death: Aug 1837 in Lowndes County, Mississippi; Event: Military Service According to family legend, served with his brother James at the Battle of New Orleans; Emigration: Bet. 1825 - 1830 From Smith County, Tennessee, to Lowndes County, Mississippi; Emigration: Bet. 1802 - 1809 From Laurens County, South Carolina to Smith County, Tennessee; Probate: 9 Oct 1837 Lowndes County, Mississippi - Wife "Eliza" renounced appointment as administrator in favor of John Allison; Probate: 21 Jul 1837 John Allison purchased Thomas Allison's property in Lowndes County, but Thomas died before the deed was filed. Apparently Lucy Ann Brown died in Smith County, Tennessee, after the children were born. Then Thomas married "Eliza," who must have been young, and who made only a token call on his estate. James and Thomas, Jr. were declared orphans and their older brother John and his father-in-law John Cartwright were made guardians. 1838 John Allison paid Eliza $50 in Smith County, Tennessee, to forego all claims against the Thomas Allison estate; Will: Intestate. Note: database shows several children of this couple. Father to Thomas Allison: Joseph Allison; Birth: 8 Jan 1753 in Laurens County, South Carolina; Death: Bet. May - Jul 1828 in Smith County, Tennessee; Event: Property 1 Dec 1788 Land grant in Laurens County, 100 acres; Event: Property bought and inherited property in Laurens County, South Carolina; Event: Property Bet. 1804 - 1810 bought property around Mulherrin's Creek, Smith County, Tennessee; Will: 27 May 1827 Smith County, Tennessee - Left his "still" to his wife Elizabeth; Probate: 14 Jul 1828 Smith County, Tennessee; Emigration: Bet. 1802 - 1809 From Laurens County, South Carolina to Smith County, Tennessee. Note: database shows several other children of Joseph Allison as siblings to Thomas.

      MARRIAGE:
      1. Date is a guess, but location is most likely Laurens Co., SC, since both families lived there prior to Thomas' and Ann's move to Tennessee.
